State Parliament Excursion

Yesterday we headed to Sydney for our excursion to State Parliament. We were lucky enough to get a surprise visit from the Premier during our tour and role play of the lower house. After our parliament visit we enjoyed a lunch break in Hyde Park, followed by a trip to the Australian Museum. A big thank you to the wonderful parents who attended – Karen, Monique, Kristen and Mary. Check out the photos and video below.

Sydney Excursion

On Wednesday students in the OC and 5/6I went on an excursion to State Parliament House and the Australian Museum.

We began our day at Parliament House. Students received a tour and participated in a variety of activities where they impressed us with their knowledge of parliamentary procedures. Students  participated in a role play of passing a bill in parliament and were keen to have their say as you will see in the video below.

We then enjoyed our lunch in Hyde Park followed by a visit to the Australian Museum. Students explored the various exhibits with the highlights being the Dinosaur Room, Surviving Australia and Skeletons.

There were many exhausted faces as we boarded the bus back home, although students still had enough energy to continue singing their version of ‘the wheels on the bus.’ A terrific day was had by all and I would like to congratulate the students who did Tighes Hill proud by displaying exemplary behaviour throughout the day.
