Personal Reading Projects

To finish the term students completed a personal reading project, where they selected a book to read and review and created a beautiful folder showcasing highlights from their chosen novel. It was great to see so many different texts enjoyed by our Stage 3 students. The best from each class are displayed on the boards in our upper hall. So many great books!

OC Book Club

Well done to the students who read The Blue Cat by Ursula Dubosarsky for our April Book Club. We held our discussion today and it was great to hear lots of positive reviews about this mysterious and intriguing novel.

Our next book is one of my recent favourites, Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley, a CBCA list Honour Book and a beautiful love story about books. I look forward to hearing what students think about it at the end of the term. Happy reading!

Reading Buddies!

This term we have started our Reading Buddies program with students from 3S. Reading Buddies is all about fostering positive reading habits, developing confidence and modelling expressive reading skills. Well done, everyone!

OC Book Club

Thank you and well done to all the students who took part in our May Book Club – Two Wolves by Tristan Bancks. We met today to share our opinions and reviews.

Our next book for June is Frogkisser! by Garth Nix. I look forward to discussing this one first week back next term.
