A Worthy Cause…

http://picasion.com/gl/6l9M/
A special shout out to Patrick who took on a rather hairy challenge this week. Pat wanted to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia Foundation by participating in the World’s Greatest Shave. So far he has raised over $870 towards this wonderful organisation by bravely surrendering his once luscious locks on Tuesday night. It takes a special kind of person who is willing to donate not only their time, but part of themselves, for such a worthy cause. Well done, Pat. We are extremely proud of you! If you would like to donate, contact Pat himself for more details.

Last Friday our SRC organised their first fundraising event for the year to support and raise money for Camp Quality. Students dressed in mufti, enjoyed a pizza lunch and talent quest. Well done and thank you to our students for their effort and help setting up. Special mentions to Dan, for being our enthusiastic TQ host; Joe for being one of our super TQ judges and to Max and Joseph for being terrific stage hands. It was a fantastic event and we raised over $800 to donate to Camp Quality. Thanks to everyone for supporting this event.

CEP Digital Media Festival

Thank you so much to everyone who came along last night and supported our school at the CEP Outdoor Festival. It was terrific to see so many Tighes Hill faces there! Below is a link to our film A Nightmare on Elizabeth Street. I will also have DVD copies available next week for those who would like one.

A big thank you also to Miss Beker and the choir for coming along to perform. You did a great job! Below are some photos.

Thank you to Miss Staniland  and the families who baked delicious treats for our fundraising tent. We raised over $300 which will go towards our Year 6 fundraising.
Lastly, thanks again to the lovely Mrs Bowman who did a stellar job directing and editing our film.

Calling all bakers!

The talented mums of 5/6A have made another hilarious short film to inspire you to get baking and volunteer for the cake stall at the fete. If you would like to help out, please see Karen Eastwood or Mel Hamwood.

Great work, ladies!!

Books, Books and More Books!

Exciting news! Thanks to the wonderful fundraising efforts of last term’s Year 5/6 Fair, I have been able to use some of the money to purchase new novels for our class library. They are now all labelled and covered and ready to go!

Camp Quality Fun Day!

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the Camp Quality Fun Day today. Students enjoyed dressing in mufti, a pizza lunch and lunchtime talent show. Congratulations to our 2nd place winners, Dan and Rory, for their highly entertaining ‘Romeo and Juliet’ performance and to Dayna, Cala and Sahra for their terrific skit. Well done to Adrian for being a finalist in the joke competition. We raised close to $700 for Camp Quality today – a super effort! Thanks to the Britt family and Miss Staniland for their organisation of this worthwhile event.
