Weekly Blogging Challenge T1 Wk4
This term we’re focusing on imaginative writing and how to make our writing more exciting. One of the techniques we’ve started looking at is Sizzling Starts.
For this week’s homework Blogging Challenge, use the image below to write a sizzling start. You can post your writing in the comments section. Remember – a sizzling start catches the reader’s attention by starting where the action is. Can’t wait to read some amazing writing!
Water 4 Life Challenge
Today we received a special visitor to our morning assembly – Harold the giraffe from Life Education! Harold joined us to launch the Water 4 Life Challenge which involves students drinking nothing but water (with the exception of milk for cereal) for 2 weeks. Students took home their Water 4 Life Challenge starter packs which includes lots of information about the challenge, sponsorship and prizes. If students raise $10 for completing the challenge, then their Life Education excursion fee later this term will be covered! Some of the photos of Harold’s visit are below, including information about the challenge. If you have any questions, please let me know.ย

Art Cave
Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers Jane and Alex who ran our first Art Cave session for the year last Friday. Students began creating some beautiful artworks based on our Science topic microorganisms using ink and straw blowing. They’re going to look fantastic when they’re done!
OC Outdoor Education excursion
We had our very first excursion in Week 1 to the Outdoor Education Centre at Morisset where students displayed lots of skill and courage tackling the high ropes and giant swing. Thank you OC for your wonderful effort and to Mrs Derricott for attending in my place.
