Education Week Celebrations!

A huge thank you to all our grandparents, parents, and friends who came along to Education Week Celebrations today. What an amazing day! This week we are celebrating Creative and Performing Arts. We started off with an assembly acknowledging all the amazing and creative performers we have at THPS, showcasing our band, junior and senior choirs, public speakers, stage 2 dance group, and the Sapphires aerobics team.

In the afternoon session, our amazing Year 5 and 6 students visited classrooms from K-4 and taught a series of art lessons including play doh monsters, bunting, hand dinosaurs / peacocks /butterflies, kaleidoscopes, writing styles, pattern design, collages, superhero / character sketching, sock puppets, paper planes, graphic art / shading, and zentangles. I am so incredibly proud of the efforts our senior kids went to today. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with the younger students and it was a whole new world seeing the classroom from the teacher’s perspective!

A special thank you to Jane, our Art Cave guru and her team of volunteers for their efforts in working with classes and curating the Lower Hall and Community Room for our Art Gallery. It was so wonderful to see a huge turnout of families and friends to Education Week 2017!
