Happy Holidays!

My final blog post for 2018! Thank you so much for a terrific year and for all the lovely gifts, cards and beautiful words this week. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful students and supportive parents.

Farewell to our amazing Year 6s! It was an emotional afternoon saying goodbye. We will miss you all but know you’ll come back and visit next year. Delightful Year 5s, see you soon! I’ll leave you with some final photos of Year 6 today. Have a fabulous Christmas and a relaxing break and see you in 2019!

P&C Weird Science Fete!

Thank you to our amazing P&C for organising the Weird Science Fete for 2018! It was a wonderful event, with a variety of stalls and fundraising for our school. Thanks to everyone from the Tighes Hill community who came along and had a great time, whilst supporting our beautiful school!

Tighes Hill’s Got Talent!

Congratulations to all our fantastic performers who took part in the Stage 3 Talent Quest today. Tighes Hill definitely has a lot of talent! It was lovely to see such a range of creative performances. Well done to our winners Jemima and Rebecca for their beautiful ukulele performance, Koby and Issach for their hilarious comedy magic routine, and Hamish for his amazing musical performance. Thank you to our judges, Miss Boyle, Finn, and Tighes Hill PS alumni, Oscar!

SKiPS

This week our class completed the SKIPS (Supporting Kids in Primary School) program.  During the program students learned about good mental health, types of mental illness and how they can best support someone with a mental illness.  Students were asked to complete a pre and post quiz to identify previous understanding and for us to see their growth in knowledge. Students who completed the SKIPS program were able to take home their work booklets today to share their learning with their families.

A huge thank you to Ms Field, our school counsellor and senior psychologist, who delivered this wonderful program to our students. Well done to all our students for their excellent participation and thoughtful contributions.
