Well done to all of our year 5 students who attended a sports gala day yesterday at Callaghan College Waratah Technology Campus. Students got the opportunity to meet other year 5 students from several of our cluster schools and enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities including crossfit, tennis, basketball, volleyball and relays. This term for sport we are doing basketball with the super tall Russell. We had a great time and are improving our catching, dribbling and passing skills.
Athletics Carnival
Well done to everyone for their fantastic participation and effort today at our annual Athletics Carnival! Despite the dismal weather we managed to get through the majority of events with lots of smiles and sportsmanship. Have a look at some of the photos below!
Cross Country
Today students from 3-6 walked to Islington Park to participate in our annual Cross Country event. It was great to see so many students having a go and trying their best. Well done, everyone! Swimming Carnival
Well done to everyone who participated in our annual swimming carnival today! It was great to see so many students having a go in numerous events and displaying great sportsmanship and camaraderie. Thanks to Mr Slade for organising a fantastic day. Students who have qualified for Zone will be informed in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students who were elected to represent their sport house during last week’s house meetings. I know they’ll do a wonderful job leading their house teams at next week’s Athletics Carnival!

Sport Stars!
Congratulations to Lachlan and Adrian for their performances at the Zone AFL and Soccer trials. Adrian was successful in being selected to play in the Newcastle Zone Soccer team. Lachlan moved on from the Zone trials and was further selected to represent the Hunter Region in the State AFL Championships next month. Two amazing performances from two amazing sports stars. Well done boys!!
Cross Country
Well done to all of our students who took part in our Cross Country event at Islington Park yesterday. It was great to see everyone get involved and do their best. Zone Cross Country will take place on the 27th March for students whose race times qualify. Thanks to Mr Slade for his organisation.
Sporty Friday
Last week we began our first session of the Sports in Schools program – thanks to everyone for their prompt payments! Students commenced with the fundamental movement skills kicking and striking. Check out the photos below (look out for Mr Slade who decided to ‘borrow’ my camera).
