CEP Digital Media Festival

Thank you to everyone who came along to our CEP Digital Media Festival last week. The event was a great success, with a turnout of over 2,500 community members. Our fundraising stall – popcorn and slushies – raised close to $1000, which goes back towards supporting our creative and performing arts programs.

Our film, The Other Side of the Door, written and created by our students, was enthusiastically received and has helped further cement the festival as a highlight on participating schools’ creative and performing arts calendar.

Last term they embarked on the next stage (Enrichment) of the program, where they worked through a series of complex multi-layered problems. Congratulations to both Noah and Oscar who received their results today – High Distinctions! Well done.

Congratulations to Oscar, Noah G and Noah K who were announced as the winners of our Stage 3 CEP Film competition – Best Script and Storyboard.

Last term all Stage 3 had the opportunity to work in groups to produce a film script and storyboard for this year’s Digital Media Festival. Films had to contain a key and the line ‘how hard can it be?’ Our prizes included their very own THPS Oscar statuette, movie tickets and the opportunity to have their film screened at the CEP Festival later this term. Make sure you buy your tickets (on sale each morning before school) and come along to watch our amazing short film. The winning school on the night wins a drone! We will also be selling popcorn and slushies at our fundraising tent.

Informative Magazines

Well done to all of our Stage 3 students for their amazing efforts on our Informative Magazine project last term. Students worked really hard; selecting a topic of interest to research; writing a variety of articles focusing on different aspects and; incorporating lots of graphics and visual information. At the end of last term we had a sharing session with 6B and 5R where students got the opportunity to read each other’s magazines and peer review them. Be sure to have a read of their magazine when they bring them home.
