2019 Student Leaders
Lovely Leaders!
Thank you to all the Year 6 students who accompanied me to the GRIP Leadership Conference on Thursday. It was such a pleasure taking out a group of beautifully behaved, hard working and polite students. We had lots of fun doing a range of activities and learning about leadership qualities. One activity involved students writing similes about leadership. Some of our favourites are below:
Leadership is like a garden because it grows every time you work on it. – Amie
Leadership is like a pair of headphones because people listen to you. – Will
Leadership is like a star because it can guide you when you’re lost. – Chelsea
Leadership is like a car because it takes you places. – Jules
Leadership is like a fire because it’s there when you least expect it. – Archie
Leadership is like a tree because the roots are like the old captains, still there to remember them. – Keita
2018 Leaders
Congratulations to our 2018 student leaders who did a fabulous job presenting their captain speeches today. Our K-5 students voted and our captains will be announced at our Hall of Fame assembly this Monday. If you couldn’t attend today, you can watch the speeches below.
Student Leaders 2018
Well done to all of our Year 5 students who took part in our leadership program over the past 2 weeks. Students learnt about and discussed the skills, qualities and values of being a leader; listened to a talk from our current school captains, Ember and Oscar about their experience as school leaders and also spoke with Mr Selwood about the roles and responsibilities of leadership. It was great to see so many amazing students put themselves forward and share their applications for a leadership position. After our session last week, all Year 5 students took part in a peer vote for their top 3 male and female leaders.
Congratulations to Joey, Hamish, Jules, Keita, Evie and Georgie! Next Thursday 30th November beginning at 9.20am, these students will present their captaincy speeches to K-5 ready for a whole school vote. Parents and family are very welcome to attend this event. We wish our 2018 leaders the very best and look forward to their leadership journey!

We had a fantastic day participating in a range of leadership tasks, activities and games. It’s always a pleasure working with these amazing students – exemplary role models and school citizens.
2017 Captains
Congratulations to Ember and Oscar who have been elected as 2017 student Captains. We are very proud of both of you!
