Well done to all of the students who read this term’s Book Club novels, The Boy at the Top of the Mountain and Words in Deep Blue. Two enjoyable books with very different themes resulting in lots of great discussion and opinions. Our next Book Club novel for the upcoming holidays is this year’s CBCA winner, How to Bee by Bren Macdibble.
Today we received a lovely surprise in the post! Australian author Ursula Dubosarsky sent us some postcards and of copy of her book Brindabella as a thank you for reading her novel The Blue Cat in our last book club. It’s great to be able to add another book to our class library that I’m sure the students will enjoy. Thanks Ursula!
Well done to the students who read The Blue Cat by Ursula Dubosarsky for our April Book Club. We held our discussion today and it was great to hear lots of positive reviews about this mysterious and intriguing novel.
Our next book is one of my recent favourites, Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley, a CBCA list Honour Book and a beautiful love story about books. I look forward to hearing what students think about it at the end of the term. Happy reading!
Well done to all the students who read The Fall by Tristan Bancks in preparation for our excursion to the Writer’s Festival tomorrow. We held our Book Club today and it was great to hear so many great ideas and opinions about the plot, characters and the ending. Just a reminder that students can bring money tomorrow if they wish to purchase books from the Festival or they may bring copies of Tristan’s books to be signed.
Our next book for the month of April is The Blue Cat by Ursula Dubosarsky, which has also been selected for the CBCA 2018 Shortlist. I look forward to hearing what students think about it next term. Happy reading!
