Well done to all of our students who participated in today’s Premier’s Spelling Bee. It was a fantastic competition with quite a few tricky words. Congratulations to Heather, who won the Stage 3 event, and Frank, who was first runner up. They will now represent our school at the Regional finals next month. A big thank you to our wonderful Mrs Bowman and Miss Santone for organising this enjoyable event.

Due to popular request we have decided to organise and order special Class of 2013 Graduation Year 6 shirts for our students!
The shirts are high quality 100% polyester and will include a school emblem, Year 6 design (voted by students) and include the names of all graduating students. They will be light blue with dark blue printing.
The cost of a shirt is $27. As soon as quantities and payments are finalised we will be able to place the order and receive the shirts within several weeks. Students will be able to wear their new shirts everyday (with the exception of formal events).
Notes and payment are due to the office by this Wednesday 14th August, 2013. Thank you to the families who have already placed an order. Don’t miss out!
Last week, five of our students attended the CEP Education Week assembly at Jesmond Technology Campus. Congratulations to Mitchell from the OC who received a special award for always striving for excellence. A well deserved achievement for a wonderful student!
Congratulations to Heather and Dayna who are the Stage 3 students selected to represent our school at the Zone Public Speaking competition next Wednesday. We wish the girls all the best and know they will do an amazing job. Good luck!
Today our school supported Jeans for Genes day with a gold coin donation and some stylish denim threads! So far we have raised over $338. Well done Tighes Hill! The money raised will go towards helping the Children’s Medical Research Institute. Thank you to the SRC and Mrs Dickson for organising this event.
